PROCESS

The Conversation:

First, we talk.  We talk about the existing space—what you need, what you want to spend and what the space offers in terms of potential.

The Concept:

We take “The Conversation” and we dream big.  We gather inspiration from near and far to create the overall narrative of the space---the colors, the textures, the feel.

​

The Space Plan:

The Conversation merges with The Concept and we start carving out the space.  We want to flow easily through it, but we also want to make sure everything fits, and we want to plan for all of

life’s moments.

The Design:

The elements above come together with finish options—paint colors, furniture, lighting, rugs, etc.   The design becomes tangible, and the dream starts to become reality.

The Drawings:

The design then turns into documents for the contractors to start implementing.   My drawings are complete with measurements, product specifications and detailed guidelines for installation and usage.  These drawings are for design intent only.  If construction documents are needed, I can engage a partner architect or collaborate with yours.

The Construction Admin & Purchasing:

As the contractors start building, things come up.  In the real world, designs may need to be adjusted to meet budgets, timelines, etc.   I am always available to discuss any issues with the team and adjust the design as needed.

While the space is being built, we start buying.  We procure furniture, rugs, decorative objects, and whatever else we need to complete The Design.

​

The Install:

The space is built, the furniture and accessories are purchased, and we put it all together.  The design is here and it’s everything we dreamed of.
